AIM Mentor Programme

We know from experience that Year 11 is a very challenging time for some students. They have to plan their revision, meet coursework deadlines, produce work to a high quality and prepare for college interviews. Because we want your child to achieve their full potential we have a support programme, called ‘AIM’,for students that we believe can improve their grades and ensure they successfully go onto further education.
The programme extends the school day to 4.30pm in Year 11 and provides students with an Academic Mentor on Monday evenings.

This intervention has increased attainment by 21% over 2 years.

Abdi enjoyed writing, but was only predicted Ds in English. On leaving Arts & Media School in 2013, through AIM he improved his grades to an A and a B and went on to study English at A level. He is currently at University in Leicester studying Engineering.

“ This has motivated me more than anything else. I’d kind of given up and thought it was too late to improve.”
