Four days, four authors, five year groups and fifteen workshops at the inaugural AMSI Lit Fest!
This has been an excellent addition to our extra curricular provision. The speakers were diverse and relevant to our young people and really supported the whole school priority of reading for pleasure. Congratulations and a very special thank you to Ms Ackerly and Ms Zipfel for really going above and beyond with organising this such a wonderful festival.
The Authors:
Breis
Year 9 had an energetic start to the day with a whistlestop tour of the history of hip-hop from the charismatic @MrBreis culminating in a captivating performance. He encouraged them to channel their inner lyricism by adding REAL SPICE to their writing.
Thank you so much BREIS!
Yomi Ṣode
Yesterday our KS4 students were privileged enough to spend a couple of inspirational hours with @YomiSode who got them to reflect on the importance of resilience and asked the question, “Could we be more?”
Thank you so much Yomi! We can’t wait to read #manorism @PenguinUKBooks
Jasmine Richards
Our Year 7 students heard a powerful and inspiring message from @JRichardsAuthor today: “Reading gives you the keys to the kingdom” and “where you start doesn’t determine where you’ll end up.”
We couldn’t agree more Jasmine!
Alexandra Sheppard
Our Y8 students have had a fabulous day with the brilliant @alexsheppard, creating their own modern deities and thinking about all things mythical!
Thanks so much Alex! We particularly love this rather bewitching Goddess of Music created by one of our very own @AMSI_school students!
