Dear Parents and Carers,
Public Health England has agreed on a six-day window after the final day of teaching in which schools are asked to remain contactable so they can assist with contact tracing where necessary.
For the first 6 days after teaching ends, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school is asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
Therefore, if your child tests positive for coronavirus from Wednesday 16th December up to and including Tuesday 22nd December, please inform the school at the following email address, stating the following information:
- Your child’s name and form group.
- The date when your child first developed COVID-19 Symptoms.
- The date of the positive COVID-19 test.
- A phone number that you can be easily reached on.
Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
We request that any infraction about positive COVID-19 tests is sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. This email address will be monitored in the 6 day window mentioned above between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
We thank you for your ongoing support in these challenging times.
