Instrumental lessons at AMSI

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am writing to inform you that it is now possible for students to receive instrumental lessons at Arts & Media School Islington.

Students at AMSI are talented and enthusiastic musicians and, as a result, I would expect lots of them to be interested in learning to play an instrument.

We have a fantastic team of tutors offering weekly lessons on Piano, Drums and Singing. We can also offer other instruments should you have any specific requests. You can see our current team of tutors via the following link

Instrumental lessons last year to GCSE music students were delivered online. These lessons have been extremely successful and our students have been making fantastic progress. As a result of the success of these lessons, we are hoping that, in the first instance, all instrumental lessons from September 2021 (except from drums) have the option of being delivered online. Students will have the option of being taught during the day in school or after school once they arrive at home. Where drum lessons are delivered in school this is in a Covid secure environment.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer free instrumental lessons to students on any instrument and, as a result, there will be a cost for lessons.

Instrumental lessons are charged as follows:

  • One 30 minute individual lesson per week @ £13.50.

The termly cost for these lessons will be approximately £148.50

  • One 30 minute paired lesson per week @ £6.75. This option allows students the opportunity to choose to attend in pairs.

The termly cost for these lessons will be approximately £74.25

Students interested in instrumental lessons should speak to either Fussi or myself in the music department in order to find out more information.

Should you have any further questions and/or you would like, at this stage, any additional information please do contact me at the school at any time.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Dow
