Year 9 students at Into University spent the day in Central London at AllianceBernstein, a global asset Management firm providing investment management and research services worldwide.
Our 29 students had introductions to the company and an overview of all the interesting job roles that make up a global company. They took in a small lecture on key investment terms to include Financial Investment, Stock Markets, Interest and Liability and the value of Business Planning as being a key feature for success.
Working in teams and with the support of employers, students put forward a proposal for a ‘Robot that would be useful in Society’. The proposal had to include project and financial planning as well as its purpose and production. All students participated and had a really good go at it presenting their final proposal to the employers who then chose the winning pitch.
Students worked in teams and developed their communication, listening, planning and presentation skills and grew in confidence as the day went on. They were well provided for with snacks, lunch and chocolate treats at the end.
Well done to our students and many thanks to Into University for organising the opportunity and to AllianceBernstein for their time and commitment.
