Islington School Closures Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is regrettable that we have had to communicate different messages to you within the last 48 hours and for this myself and the Chair of Governors apologise. All decisions taken prior to today were taken in good faith upon sound advice; with safety always the main concern.

However the action to reverse our decision to close came through the communication from the DfE. All Islington Heads were written to by the Rt Hon Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards with a request to open the school to all students.  The exponential growth of the coronavirus infections in Islington  is a major cause for concern and the advice given to the Local Authority from Public Health yesterday was based on this data.

This is still a concern but we will remain open on Wednesday 16.12.20 to all students for the full day. Thursday however will be a Inset half day for teachers so the school will be closed to all students.

We will return on the 4th January 2021 with our normal on-site provision for all students unless you are informed otherwise. Safety is paramount and I and the Governors will continue to prioritise this as we manage this national health crisis.
