Dear Parents and Carers,
I wanted to write to update you as to our situation with COVID-19 in this last week and our ability to keep the school open. As of today, we have a high level of staff absence, which has meant that we have taken the decision to move to remote learning for the morning on Thursday 16 December – lessons will finish at 11.45am and 12.40pm for KS3 and KS4 respectively. The crisis situation with regards to finding supply teachers will necessitate this and provide a better quality of education for the morning.
As things stand, we still intend to keep the school open for students on Wednesday 15 December, but as I am sure you can appreciate, the situation is changing constantly, and we will take a decision and update you as soon as possible should this course of action change.
If your child is ill and exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, please do not send them into school. Book a PCR test and inform the school in the normal way.
As a reminder, we will be offering testing to all our students on Tuesday 4th January which will also be a remote learning day to facilitate this for the whole school.
Should you wish your child to be tested, please complete this form by 11.00am on Wednesday 15 December.
We will be issuing students with Lateral Flow Test kits tomorrow to support testing at home over the holiday.
