Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to let you know that due to the fact that we have had several cases of COVID-19 in Year 9, we have taken the decision to move to remote learning from Friday 9th July This means that all Year 9 students should stay and learn at home.
We understand that this is an inconvenience, but we have a duty of care to keep all of our students safe. We have a provisional return date of Monday 19 July, but this will be under constant review, and we will of course communicate any changes.
We will now start our remote learning program in the interest of being as safe as possible. It will begin on 9th July 2021, and continue until students return to school. Staff will continue to provide students with work on Google Classroom. Students must login and register for each lesson and follow their timetable for the day as they did during the lockdown. Staff will monitor their work on Google Classroom.
We will be in contact with you in the coming days if your child is considered to be a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case. If so, your child will need to take a PCR COVID-19 test regardless of whether they have symptoms, and will have to self-isolate as directed. These tests can be booked through the following link;
We will be giving all Year 9 students a COVID-19 Lateral Flow Test kit today to take home. We strongly recommend that all students complete them (although this is not a statutory requirement). Should your child test positive on this test, please let the school know as soon as possible.
