Options Process Explained


To keep you informed about this important year for the Year 9 students, we have compiled a list of key dates relating to the options process.

Choosing your Option subjects Option Talk 3 Geography, History & MFLMs Charlery, Ms Mirza & Mr Castillo

Students will have assemblies from January 5th onwards where Heads of Subject talk to the cohort about their subject as an option.  

9th – 11th February – Pre Mentoring Provisional Choices Google Form (Deadline 11/2/22)

24th February –  Year 9 Options Information Gathering Evening. This will be online and links can be found here. Please refer also to the Options Booklet 2021/22. Heads of Subjects will be available to answer any questions you have about their courses. Please note this is not an evening for individual consultations. If you require to discuss any individual concerns about your child, please contact the teacher directly.

25th February – 16th March – Options Mentoring; students will meet with Options Mentors to discuss their options and complete and complete an options form; this will be shared with the student post meeting so they can discuss their choices at home.

16th March – Parents’ Evening. This will most likely be a phone call from a teacher that knows your child. They will talk you through the data in the report and will be able to discuss any concerns with you.

21st March – Final Option Choices deadline via Google Form.

1st July – Students and parents will be notified about their option allocations via the MyEd app.
