Research shows that young people who take part in out of school activities do better in school and their attainment levels are higher. More than 250 students participate in over 30 activities each week, led by qualified tutors. Our musicians have performed at the Barbican, our dancers at Sadlers Wells and our drama students at the Almeida theatre. We have been recognised for this work through a QISS Award (Quality in Study Support) and we believe that participation fosters a sense of community as well as new friendships. We have a Breakfast Club to help students improve their literacy in the new library and a range of lunchtime activities.
