Trustees Lectures
In 2012 the school opened an £18m refurbishment with a brand new 250 seat Theatre. The Trustees are keen to see the facility used as a resource for the local community. Susan Service Headteacher said: “We develop the young people of tomorrow with a quality education at the heart of that experience. We are interested in hearing the views of people from within and outside of our community and believe the Education Lecture will create an important platform for dialogue”.
The Education Lecture started in 2014 with former Secretary for Education, Baroness Estelle Morris, presenting the first inspiring lecture.
This was followed in 2015 with a wonderfully entertaining lecture from the Turner Prize-winning artist, Grayson Perry CBE RA and again in 2016 with a fascinating lecture from the former Schools Commissioner for London, Sir Tim Brighouse. In 2017, we hosted a wonderful interview with choreographer and director Sir Matthew Bourne and in 2018 we welcomed the director of the Museum of London, Sharon Ament. In 2019 we hosted an interview with inspirational Global Teacher awardee, Andria Zafirakou.
