Year 10 students participated in the opportunity to experience the Workplace. This is an important time for students to think about moving forward in life and gaining skills and experience in an unfamiliar work environment of interest to support their understanding of the World of Work.
Year 10 students really took on the challenge with many students proactively sourcing their own work placements and other students being allocated a placement. The week before their placement they attended an in-school Work Experience Preparation Day, dressed in suitable ‘Business Attire’ to work with Business volunteers for the day to support them to focus on the challenge ahead and have the opportunity to speak with professionals, ask questions and ‘step out of the classroom’ to think about future opportunity and how they can prepare themselves. Year 10 students at AMSI really took on the challenge, were fully engaged and really participated to get the most for themselves. Each student has received a certificate of engagement which is not only great for their personal development but useful for developing their working life profile. Well done Year 10.
AMSI enlisted Aspire, work experience providers to create this opportunity in partnership.
