To support students in their career planning for Year 11, Year 10 students attended a Careers Fair in our school sports hall then met with employers and participated in Careers Activities the following day.
We were well supported by local providers and colleges who gave their time to bring this offer to our students who really took a great interest and it had the desired effect of getting students to think about planning for next year when they are thinking about their choices for when they leave AMSI and move on. Working with Young Careers, who are supporting the school with employer engagement, students had the opportunity to hear from industry professionals and ask questions to enhance their understanding of the wider world of work and future opportunity.
Our Year 10 students took a great interest and made all efforts to get the most from these events and we will be offering them more focused opportunities next year to support them. We thank all our employers, providers and professionals who gave their time to invest in the students at AMSI.
